My Favorite Lex Fridman Podcast Episodes and the case for optimism
🤵🏻♂️Lex Fridman @lexfridman podcast is one of the most inspiring things on the Internet. It helps me to explore the universe through the minds of the brightest people of our time. These 2–3 hour long conversations inevitably end with a question by Lex: “What is the meaning of life?”. Every episode gets me a little closer to my own answer.

🧝🏼♀️Lex’s talk with Grimes made me make a lot of notes. I loved Grimes ability to think from first principles and to challenge the dogma. There’s one thing that caught my attention in particular.
▶️On minute 45:00 of their conversation (find it and watch it for me, please) Grimes says how she had no problem making dark and cynical art. But after the birth of her baby this changed. She became an optimist. Her point is that we can’t create a good future for humanity if we don’t envision it and believe in it.
This is a message that has so much meaning. Especially in light of recent events in Ukraine. Dark forces want us to be paralyzed with fear and anger, to lose our creative potential, to forget about the things that make this life worth living.
But love is infinite and the majority of the humans are kind and wonderful. Let us be charging each other with love and care. The dark forces will have no chance against us.
